What are the basic commands of AutoCAD?

01. UCS Icon :

  • UCS Icon means, User Co-ordinate System .
  • To fix the UCS Icon at lower left corner of model space, use the command :
    UCSICONEnter — N – Enter

02. Line :

  • To draw the lines, use the command:
  • L — ENTER — Specify first point, specify second point , specify next point
  • To draw the lines either horizontally or vertically use the key F8 for ortho mode

03. Polyline :

  • To draw the polylines, use the command
  • PL — Enter — specify first point , specify second point, specify next point
  • Line command has individual selection and Polyline Command has group selection

04. POLY LINE EDIT:

  • To edit the poly line, use the command
  • PEDIT — enter
  • select the polyline — then you will have options to edit . ex: Choose SPLINE from list

05. SPLINE :

  • TO draw the curved lines use the command :
  • SPLINE — Enter

06. RAY LINE :

  • Ray line, first end is visible and other end is not visible that is infinity
  • command : RAY Enter

07. CONSTRUCTED LINE :

  • Constructed line, both ends are not visible , those are infinity
  • command : XL enter

08. CIRCLE :

  • To draw the circle
  • use the command : C — enter
  • Circle command by default measurement is Radius

09. CIRCLE WITH DIAMETER :

  • To draw the circle with diameter
  • use the command, C – enter -specify center point – Dia – Enterenter the measurement –

10. CIRCLE WITH TANGENT, TANGENT, RADIUS

  • Command : C – Enter TTR – Enter – Specify first tangent point, Specify next tangent point, specify Radius

11. CIRCLE WITH TANGENT, TANGENT, TANGENT

  • There is no command for Circle with tangent, tangent, tangent in any version of autocad
  • To draw circle with TTT , go to home tab, draw grop — there is circle option, click it — then choose the option Circle with Tangent, Tangent , Tangent
  • Spcify first tangent point , specify second tangent point, specify thrid tangent point

12. CIRCLE WITH 2 POINTS :

  • Command : C – Enter – 2P enter
  • Specify First point and Specify second point

13. CIRCLE WITH 3 POINTS

  • Command: C – enter – 3P – enter
  • Specify first point , Specify second point, Specify third point

14. POLYGON

  • Command : POL — Enter —
  • Enter no. of sides — ex: 8 — enter
  • Specify center point —
  • Choose the option —
    Inscribed in circle (or)
    circumscribed about circle
  • Specify the radius — Press enter

15. REVISION CLOUD

  • To draw the cloud shapes
  • Command : REVCLOUD — enter
  • To turn any object into Revision cloud: Command : revcloud — enter — o — enter — select the object (ex: line , circle, rectangle etc..)

16. FILLET:

  • Fillet command Creates tangent arcs
  • Command : FIL – enter – R – enter – enter the radius – press enter – (For Trim: T – enter – T – enter) (For no trim: T – enter – N – enter ) select the first object – select the second object

17. TRIM:

  • To trim the excess objects
  • Command : Tr – double enter — select the excess objects

18. CHAMFER:

  • angled line creates to the end points of two straight objects
  • Command : CHA — Enter — D — enter — specify first object distance and Specify second object distance – enter – (For trim: T – enter – T – enter ) (For no trim – T – enter – N – enter)

19. LINE TYPE:

  • Command : LT – enter — Click on load — select line type — click on open
  • Select the line type — click on set Current

20. LINE WEIGHT:

  • Command : LW – enter – select line weight — click on display line weight if you requires to display line weight
